I'm going to tell you something that may not change your life (I'm not saying it will), exactly one year ago I had my first anxiety attack, a hard life experience that made me stop mentally.
At that time I had been living in Barcelona for three years and a few months, I was a personal trainer and I felt very lonely (especially in my family). I remember I had a cold, I couldn't get out of bed, I felt terrible and the only thing I wanted was to feel cared for, a bowl of soup and that familiar warmth. That's how I had my first anxiety attack...thinking about the future. I began to have many scenarios (negative and positive) in my head, which caused my breathing to speed up, not understanding what was happening to me, fear and a lot of crying.
Luckily, I was in therapy and that helped me to get over that moment in my life. But of course, since I needed to stop my head, I decided to stop being a personal trainer (I understand now that I wanted to close that stage) and look for a job as an employee. Today I still work in a hotel, playing a role of fulfilling a schedule without much mental challenge.
I realized that I am now ready to challenge myself professionally again, because I see all the possibilities for improvement in my department: disruptive ideas to attract more clients, personnel management (there is a huge lack here), sports partnership style collaborations, improving the experience of clients staying at the hotel, and many other things.
So all this led me to contact a coach and next week I will start the process of professional reorientation, sorting out my ideas, putting my skills and knowledge on the table, understanding where I want to go and what I want to do?
Yesterday, while talking to a friend of mine (by the way, a marketing and communication genius who has worked for Boca Juniors and all his added value speaks for itself), I realized that I do have some answers. If you're curious, read on and I'll tell you...
🎾 What do I want to achieve with tennis in 2024?
To be able to talk to Conchita Martinez (former player and tournament director of the Billie Jean King Cup) and make her a proposal... to add value, my value, to the kid's day of the tournament, generating a double impact of promoting women's tennis in Seville and involving local brands (of course with a return on investment).
In addition, having been there for the whole week last year, I see a lot of room for improvement in exploiting both the physical and digital assets they have (spaces under the stands of the stadium, arrival to the stadium, fan zone, inside the stadium: in the corridors between the courts, social networks, etc.).
Do you think I can contact her and submit a proposal, and do you have a way to help me do that?
⚽ What do I want to achieve with football in 2024?
If you read my newsletter, you know that I am a fan of what Victoire Cogevina is doing. So of course I would love to be able to do a Mercury 13 summer camp just for girls.
It would be an incredible experience to be able to work with her whole team in creating a summer camp for girls' soccer, beyond the barrier of belonging to a club, where the only goal is to create a space of diffusion, promotion and of course experience for girls who already play or who would like to do so.
I know that this year they have focused on the acquisition of women's clubs and the exploitation of the business of women in sport, even so... will I be able to have a conversation with her?
By the way, I only had one more anxiety attack, my family was able to visit me more often, I found the love of my life, we have a puppy, plans, and above all, I am enjoying the present.
Life can change so much in a year, imagine if I find this added value and am able to contribute to the market, where will I be in another year? We will see...
And that's all for today 🙌🏼 Thank you very much for coming this far. If you liked it, share it with other people who you think may be interested.
