What is the basis on which you make your decisions? #27 SA.
First of all, I would like to know if... you noticed my absence last Friday?
Maybe you did.
Maybe you didn't.
Maybe you will notice today that there was no newsletter.
Anyway, the reality is that I took a few days off and completely forgot to schedule the edition. And today there was no point in posting the same thing because I want to tell you other things....
This week I had my second career reorientation session and we are moving forward. At the same time that I am doing financial training, I was thinking about estate planning for athletes, will they make decisions with the help of a professional or will they even delegate decisions to the professional?
There I began to ask myself a series of questions, such as:
✓ Who reviews athletes' contracts?
✓ On what basis do they make decisions?
Do they plan for the future? Since an athlete's career is "short".
Do they think about what they will do when their career is over?
This is true for those just starting out, those in the middle of their careers, and for the elite athletes who are nearing the end of their careers.
For example, the other day I was listening to a talk where they compared Cristiano with Messi, how Cristiano hired someone to strategically plan his finances and always had the decision in his hands. On the other hand, Messi had his father as a manager for his entire career (I'm not going to comment on that, at least for now hahaha).
Overall, I am slowly finding where I want to go and thinking about the next step that will get me there, so
✓ I'm looking for conversations with people who are also interested in strategic and financial management of athletes.
✓ To have conversations with people who are in some way related to athletes and/or finance.
So you just need to reply to the mail (if you read me from your inbox) or by replying in the comments (if you read me from substack).
And that's all for today.
